THE HOUSE TOUR

AN EDITORIAL

BY JACK OSBORNE AND ERIELLE PIZARRO

INTERVIEW BY ARHANTIKA REBELLO

“This project is a self-portraiture editorial that takes you from room to room, and look to look. After the year we’ve all had, we thought that at home would be the perfect location. We wanted to deviate from our usual styles of fashion and photography, and explore femme fashion and the idea of masculinity.”

What was lockdown like for the both of you, in terms of staying creative and inspired?

Erielle - Lockdown for me was challenging in both good and bad ways. Good, because I was able to test my skills with what little resources I had and was able to produce one of my best works during this time, and still continue to. It was also bad as previously mentioned, the resources were very scarce but thankfully I had collaborated with such creative people.

Jack - I started by begging my sister almost every day to do a shoot with me, and eventually she was sick of me so I turned the camera towards myself! Initially it started as just putting a few outfits together, taking Erielle through my entire wardrobe via FaceTime. We made do with what we had. As time went on we developed from just getting single images to creating bodies of work.

What inspired the styling of this project?

Erielle - We’ve seen a rise of femme fashion recently like with the Vogue photoshoot with Harry Styles. I wanted to create something similar but with my own sense of style.

What motivated you to pursue self expression through self portraiture?

Jack - This year meant more down time on my own than I’d would have usually liked. Photographing myself initially began as a way to stay busy and inspired, but also as a way to express myself. It then developed into expressions of my identity, specifically my masculinity. The idea of what it means to be masculine is now being challenged every day, and for someone like myself who has never identified with the traditional ideas of masculinity, this is something incredibly exciting to see. I view my self portraiture now, as a way to play with these ideas and push my work as far as I can.

“I’m a Cardiff based fashion photographer & model. My work includes editorial, commercial and personal projects. Representations of race and sexuality are key themes to my work.”

Erielle

“I am a stylist and creative director that enjoys creating work that has not already been thoroughly explored within the fashion industry.”
