“I make more alternative hip hop. Whatever it may sound like sonically I always try and make sure the music can be seen visually when you’re listening, I really pay attention to the storytelling aspect of my music.”
How did your journey with music begin?
Around 2016 or so I started making tunes from my bedroom with a mate, we did that for a year or so and then parted ways. We dropped a couple of songs which I’ve since taken down. I’d say when I met Earl at the beginning of lockdown is when I really started making the music I had been wanting to produce for a while. Since then it’s been wild, done so much travel, lived so much life, it’s crazy.
What does music mean to you?
Expression, just being able to express yourself be it calmly, aggressively, romantically whatever it be me. I think music is just an outlet to speak on things you otherwise wouldn’t which I think is a beautiful thing.
How did both your cultural heritage and growing up in Ireland influence your music taste and journey?
I think it definitely made me more open to exploration and diving into music outside of what was around me. Just because I knew of a lot more than just chart music which is what I would’ve been exposed to growing up in Dublin. From that exploration I discovered rap music and since furthered discovery that into other genres such as indie, punk etc.
What advice do you have for other young artists?
Follow your gut and don’t go by what you see around you or what is deemed popular at that given moment. Make whatever you’re making yours.
