BIKINHI 👙

BIKINHI represents women of all sizes because every top is handmade and custom. Although we do work with sizes from XS to XL for our tops, adjustments can always be made. BIKINHI is not only swimwear but it can also be styled as a bralette for daily wear. We want to make women feel comfortable, secure and sexy. For now, we are only focusing on tops but I cannot wait to expand the brand in the future.”

BIKINHI is run by 23-year-old designer Nhi Nguyen, currently based in Amsterdam after having grown up in the South of The Netherlands in a small city, Sittard.

How did BIKINHI come about?

I always wanted to start something for myself and to be able to express my creativity but I didn’t know how. So I researched and found out that there were not a lot of brands with crochet pieces around me. So I started looking into it by learning how to crochet in the summer of 2019. It started as just a hobby at first. I also just enjoyed being able to hand-make my own tops. After practising a lot by trial and error, I thought I might have perfected my BIKINHI tops. One day I posted a story on my Instagram account with the design and a lot of my friends were hyping it up. That was when I knew that I should do something with it and that’s when BIKINHI was born.

Where do you hope to see BIKINHI go in the future?

Firstly, I would love to expand my brand in the future by making other clothing pieces and products. I would like to have BIKINHI in stores or arrange my own pop-ups. I would also love to see people wearing BIKINHI pieces on the streets or even during festivals nationally and internationally.

How has living in Amsterdam influenced your creativity?

A lot!!! I feel so blessed to be surrounded by such creative people here in Amsterdam. From photographers and videographers, to creative directors, make-up artists, models and artists. Seeing how hard they are grinding and showing their work makes me more excited to work hard and stay motivated.

What advice do you have for other young creatives who feel like they don’t have the time to make art?

“Take your time, dream big and the world is yours!” I think that taking your time is really important, especially when everything in the world is going so fast. Also, I always think, if you really want to achieve something, is it possible if you take your time and believe in yourself and your craft of course…because the world is yours!

Where can people go to buy your designs?

For now, people can contact me by Instagram to buy BIKINHI pieces. @bikinhi.amsterdam
